Founded in 1731 is the current "quoin" Amarelli, whose activity was given particular impetus in 1800 with the improvement of shipping and the privileges and tax concessions granted by the Bourbons to these typical industries.
From 1840 onwards Domenico Amarelli and his descendants modernized the working systems and, in 1907, two steam boilers were built. Since then, Amarelli increased its activity, being almost the only heir to a tradition typical of the Calabria Region.
