Camus is the last major manufacturer of cognac to have maintained its independence from large multinational companies which, over the last twenty years, have gained control of the other great historic maisons of this region.

The Camus family supervises every process of production of its cognac, from the grape harvest up to packaging, to ensure that each bottle brings the style and the floral characteristics of Borderies, a region where all the Camus vineyards are located.

The Cognac region is located in southwestern France, 465 km south of Paris. It is characterized by a temperate climate and soil clay and limestone.

The main feature of Camus Cognac is to have a strong characteristic of the area of Borderies, this area being the smallest but most valuable in the region.

The harvest, which takes place normally in October, is followed by a double distillation in traditional copper stills. This process must be extremely careful to ensure the conservation of flavor in the future cognac. The aging process takes place in oak barrels: cognac alcohol is the only product that can be aged for over a century.
